Lions Camp Dorset
It's a camp, founded in 1978, for people on dialysis to get away with their families for a vacation. In the off season, from after Labour Day to mid June, there is a 10,000 sq. ft. rec hall, fourteen three bedroom cottages & 15 motel units that can be rented for reunions, weddings, etc. Pricing available upon request. Mid-week Power Jam
African Hand Drumming - Wednesdays - explore your own sense of rhythm & discover the joy of group music-making. Participants can explore in a fun, non-judgmental environment. Dorset Lifeliners
A group of ladies met for lunch 40 years ago & wondered how they could help the community. They decided to serve lunches at funerals for free. They catered other functions so they could do this - & still do!!! They boost their financial reserve by, for example, selling chilli at Snowball or by donations. They draw from a list of volunteers who help at a function or who bring sweets. While they are affiliated with Knox United Church, a person does not have to be a member. Dorset Heritage Museum
The Dorset Museum features exhibits of early pioneer life, local settlers, traditional logging practices, & historic information about the pioneer settlement of the Dorset area. We work hard to feature exhibits for youth & are dedicated to sharing "the way it was" with our children. Our summer residents also want to treasure & respect the importance & uniqueness of their adopted community, & safeguard it's future development. The Good Food Box is a large box/bag of fresh fruits & vegetables delivered right to Dorset.
What's in a Box? Fresh fruits & vegetables at a reduced cost, recipes, cooking tips & other helpful information.
How Does it Work? At the beginning of each month, place your order & pay $15 cash to the contact person. On the 3rd Thursday of the month, you pick up your box at the Rec Centre.
Anyone who wants to stretch their food budget, save money & time is welcome to take part.
Order by June 12 for pick up June 21.
