2013 RIDES AND EVENTS
NEW.....Some rides may be held on Sundays.
For the 2013 riding season, we will not schedule HATVA rides in April in an effort to allow the trails
to dry as much as possible.

HATVA 2013 Ride Schedule
For ride description, meeting place, departure time, difficulty level and sign up please refer to “Rides” on www.haliburtonatv.com . Our rides are full day events, please bring water and a lunch. There is zero alcohol tolerance.

Confirm your attendance for HATVA rides by email. Make sure you fuel up in advance and bring food and water with you. The time shown is the time we LEAVE. Rides (unless otherwise stated) require HATVA membership or trail passes. Buy your pass or membership online BEFORE you arrive at the event.

APRIL: In compliance with the local MNR office’s request and in order to minimize damage to our trails during the wet season HATVA will not schedule rides in April
April 20 – AGM fish hatchery Gelert Rd Haliburton 1pm

MAY: HALIBURTON RAIL TRAIL opens May 1st, 2013

Saturday May 4 – HATVA PRESIDENT’S RIDE CANCELLED– DUE TO THE EXTENSIVE FOODING IN MINDEN THE ACCESS THRU TOWN TO THE PRESIDENTS RIDE IS CLOSED, FOR THOSE STILL COMING THERE WILL BE A RIDE LEAVING FROM SOUTHWIND, WE WILL BE TRAILERING TO THE TRAILHEAD, THERE WILL NOT BE A BBQ AT THE END OF THE RIDE,THE RIDE WILL STILL BE COMPLIMENTARY.
Anson Mountain (T3.1): All riders are welcome. Complimentary ride with free BBQ for all members & potential members. All participants please register in advance. Includes all day guided trail ride, free one day trail pass, a barbeque following the event and draws for HATVA T-shirts. Bring lunch and water. Meet at South wind Motel & Campground on County Road 121. Be at motel by 9am, ride departs at 10am. Some road riding is involved so 2ups and UTVs stage at the trail head.

Sat – Mon May 18,19 & 20 – HATVA 1ST ANNUAL DEEP WOODS SAFARI – Minden Fairgrounds : This is a new 3 day event. Please check our website www.haliburtonatv.com/deepwoods.html for information & registration.
The event features:
a choice of 3 or 4 guided rides on Saturday and Sunday with different venues geared for riders of all skill levels ,
free overnight camping at the Minden Fairgrounds, or view the website for local accommodations,
hot dinners for Saturday and Sunday nights,
boxed trail lunches for Saturday and Sunday,
an ATV parade through downtown Minden,
the opportunity to explore more trails on your own on Monday,
a free event T-shirt and goodie bag.
At the end of the event (Sunday evening) we will be having the draw for the 2013 Arctic Cat 450, only rider registrants will be eligible to win and we are limiting the number to 200.
So 2 days of fun and a great chance to win this ATV.
Price (with registration before May 1st) Preregistration is required!
$130 for HATVA members (which also includes ATVO Powerpass and KATVA members),
$150 for non-members (includes trail permit),
May 1st or later, members $150, non-members $170
Passengers or guests $80 (meals only). To be included in the ATV draw full price must be paid.

Saturday June 15 – HATVA 4th ANNUAL MUD BOG & YOUTH TRAINING DAY. Hosted in conjunction with the “Minden Truck Pull and Shine” at the Minden Fair Grounds. Parking off Parkside Street or Fleming Road. Bring your ATV and try the bog or come out to watch the action. Bigger and better in 2013. Confirm attendance with event coordinator Harold Clayton, email: clayton7@sympatico.ca. Free Youth Training Day for ages 6-14. A 30 to 40 minute hands on introduction to ATVs with certified instructors. Sturdy footwear required. Training coordinator: Ron Cook recook@live.ca.

Sunday June 30 – HALIBURTON TO GOODERHAM RIDE (Trail T3.7) Intermediate/Expert ride. Meet at Haliburton High School south parking lot at 10am. We will ride the rail trail and Milburn and Contau Lake Roads to Gooderham and stop for lunch, (bring your own lunch) then take the Gooderham and Wolf Lake trails back to Haliburton. Saturday Aug 24 – HATVA/HIGHLANDS EAST FIRE DEPARTMENT POKER RUN: Ride the newly mapped trails in Highlands East and support their wards 4 and 5 Fire Department. Limited to 100 riders. Day long ride on marked trails with supervising trail guides, suitable for all levels of riders. Registration opens at 7am at the Lloyd Watson Community Centre, 2249 Loop Road in Wilberforce. The ride starts at 9am, bring your own lunch. Includes plate service breakfast served from 8-8:30am and a full dinner following the ride. Poker hands and lots of prizes. Saturday September 21 – HATVA / STANHOPE FIRE DEPARTMENT POKER RUN: Separate beginner/intermediate and intermediate/expert runs. Thousands in prizes! Three meals!!! Buffet breakfast, trail barbeque lunch, and BIG buffet dinner. The food is excellent!! Big success each year and a worthy cause. Stanhope Fire Department uses the proceeds to buy safety equipment that could save your life on the trails. This event is limited to 200 participants. Pre-registration is required. Cost is $75 which includes three meals and prizes, HATVA will waive the pass for this event. The Stanhope Fire Department Hall is located on North Shore Road, off Hwy 35. Sat & Sun Oct 5 & 6 – MADAWASKA FALL TOUR RIDE: Enjoy the fall colours along the picturesque Madawaska River and other areas. Trails are intermediate with some expert sections. Meeting at the Porterville Diner in Lake St. Peter. Saturday’s ride starts at 9:30am, Sundays start time will be determined on Saturday. Saturday night join us at the Porterville Diner on Hwy 127 in Lake St. Peter for dinner. Check our website before booking your accommodations. www.haliburtonatv.com. Saturday October 26 – HATVA CLUB POKER RUN WILBERFORCE: Free to all HATVA and KATVA members, non members $15 or pick up an anniversary dated membership on the spot and ride for free. Limited to 100 riders. Set your own pace and follow approx.. six hours of flagged trails. HATVA guides will be on the trails. Upon return play your poker hand-odds are good to WIN! Saturday November 30 – FROST BITE RIDE (T3.6) Wrap up the season with a frosty ride around the big loop of Miserable Lake. Intermediate to expert. Meet at 10am at Millburn Road and the Rail Trail. Confirm attendance with Ride coordinator Barry Lord, email: barrylord@bellnet.ca

DECEMBER: The Haliburton Rail Trail is closed to ATVs from December 1st to May 1st.
