There are no emergency situations in Minden Hills, save for any notices hereunder. In the event of any widespread emergency situation like fires, flood, accident spills, power failures, tornados etc. check this page for updates. PLEASE NOTE: Minor situations such as car accidents will not be reported on this website.

In the event you need to contact either the Roads Department, Parks/Rec Department or the Water/Sewer Department you can reach the after hours answering service at 1-866-856-3247. For all other emergencies you should dial 911.

FLOODING ADVISORY/WARNINGS
FLOOD AWARENESS - what you need to know to protect you and your family...IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY...DIAL 911

What to do if you are asked to evacuate your home; emergency services will have a good reason for making that request and you shuld heed their advice immediately.
Keep listening to your local radio/TV for updates and advisories; Lock your home; If you have time, bring in outdoor equipment/furniture/etc.; Disconnect electrical appliances and turn off utilities at the main switches; Take your emergency survival kit; Take a cellular phone if you have one; Use the travel routes specified by authorities.
WHEN YOUR MUNICIPALITY OR COUNTY issues a flood message, the public will be notified immediately through the media. A relationshiop has been established with CANOE 100.9 f.m. radio and in the event of a flood advisory or warning, CANOE FM will relay municipally issued public action directives about the recommended actions the public should take to protect themselves, their family and their property.

FLOOD WARNING - flooding is imminent or occurring within specific watercourse and municipalities

WHEN A "FLOOD SAFETY" BULLETIN IS ISSUED - secure your home and review evacuation routes with family; review family emergency plan and kit; speak to your children and remind them of the dangers of playing near rivers, streams and other watercourses.
Move your personal belongings to the highest area within your home; fill your car's gas tank in case an evacuation order is issued; When a flood warning is issued, listen to local radio stations for information and advice...if told to evacuate, PLEASE DO SO AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

EMERGENCY SURVIVAL KIT: should include flashlight and batteries, battery operated crank/radio, water (4L per person per day); non-perishable food; toilet paper and personal items, candles and matches; extra clothing and footwear; blankets and/or sleeping bags, medication, first-aid kit, whistle and cash.
