winter
You may have seen flooding in Minden on the news, but here at the South Wind we are high and dry! Many of the local trails are a bit muddy but not flooded.
President's ride has been postphoned but there will be a guided ride from here this weekend. Riders will trailer to the other side of town and do the Anson Mtn trail as planned. The BBQ has been cancelled however, hopefully to be done another time!
This has just been posted by the club: Haliburton County Rail Trail

For several years Haliburton ATV Association has been petitioning Haliburton County, the owners of the Rail Trail, to allow an earlier opening date for ATVs. For 2013 we were finally successful in getting a May 1st opening. Unfortunately this year's spring melt came late and has resulted in historically high flood levels in the region. Several section of the Rail Trail remain submerged.

HATVA asks that ATVers voluntarily not use the Haliburton County Rail Trail until the May long weekend in order to prevent unnecessary damage to the trail surface and to prevent any bad press that may affect future usage.

With Haliburton only 20 minutes away we are the perfect place to stay when attending the Haliburton School of Arts. Campsites and rooms at very reasonable rates.
