COTTAGES FOR 2012 ARE BOOKING
There is still some space for this summer and we do have a waitlist in case something opens up; the Availability page will show you what we have still open. Chinook, our new straw bale cottage, is amazing and guests have raved about it. Like Snowshoe cottage which we built as a solar powered cottage 4 years ago, Chinook cottage is eco-friendly and was built using straw bales - it's leading edge and a shining example of "green" design. Chinook is our largest cottage at just under 3000sq ft with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a Muskoka porch and a huge living space. Check out our BLOG to get updates and photos. First Chickens - Now Bees and a Garden!
We introduced a new flock of twelve laying hens this Spring. They are always popular, particularly with the kids who often helped to gather the eggs. And there is nothing like fresh eggs for breakfast! We are also beekeepers having started our first hive in June 2008. Ask for our amazing honey next time you visit. Our organic vegetable garden started a few years ago, and in addition to our strong emphasis on recycling and building energy, eco friendly cottages we also offer composting.
Out of the Lake, into the Sauna...
Our waterfront dry sauna is ready and waiting. What a treat. It can be an invigorating experience to take a refreshing dip in the lake during fall or spring and then follow it up with the cleansing sensation of a hot sauna. Wow!
