BUS or CAR to and from Camp-IMPORTANT!
IMPORTANT REQUEST RE DRIVING OR BUS
We are asking parents to please consider having your daughter take the bus at Vaughan Mills both to and from camp. Campers who take the bus walk into camp and this will definitely alleviate the already busy landing at Cache Lake.
Due to the oppressive new enforcement of Federal Government Regulations (Shipping Act 2001) Tanamakoon (and all commercial companies) is now restricted to taking 6 passengers per boat to and from camp. As you can imagine this means huge numbers of boat trips on arrival and departure days. This puts us at risk for increased accidents, excessive pollution of our waterways, increased use of our manpower and long wait lines for boats at the landing.
We continue to lobby the Government for an amendment to these "shipping" laws.
Please consider using the camp bus where possible.
